Blackhorse Workshop
Our London work space was originally located in the first floor studio spaces at Blackhorse Workshop. Established in 2015, the workshop is a publicly accessible space that provides the facilities and courses to enable people to learn about, have access to and use tools for making and crafting.
The ground floor hosts a wood and metal workshop. Machinery support is on hand from skilled technicians. Here, people build or fix anything from broken chairs to theatrical sets, bikes and furniture – whilst the studio spaces above offer space for creative startups and community of makers.
The workshop has been a tremendous success, and is expanding. We helped develop sketch designs for a much needed covered working area and materials store. Our study helped secure £20,000 funding from Waltham Forest local authority, to build a new extension. An extension to the cafe and workshops has been designed by the collective Assemble and is currently on site.
